I've got a bunch of things to take care of, but didn't want to neglect you, so here's some quick linky goodness for your perusal:
- 10 Japanese coffee commercials starring Tommy Lee Jones;
- one of the best restaurant reviews I've ever read;
- Adam Greenfield wonders if blogging is a dying art (and yes, the mere fact that I'm tucking this in a "linky goodness" section rather than actually responding to it at length like I'd like to is proving his point nicely for him);
- 25 photos taken at the exact right time;
- John Scalzi visits the Creation Museum. Hilarity ensues;
- a nice essay on the no-joke zone in airports;
- This is idiotic: the Marina City condo association wants to assert "copyright" to prevent people from using the name "Marina City" or even taking photos of the iconic buildings. (As seen on the "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" cover and elsewhere.) Is this legally justifiable? In a word: no;
- The pumpkin map. (I *heart* Strange Maps).
That "no joke" essay is no joke. I agree 100 percent. I'm convinced that airport screening does not make anyone significantly safer than they'd be without it - it's just a b.s. way to "do something" about "the problem."
