Thank goodness there was a compromise and the Senate didn't go nuclear.  It's a shame that wingnuts like Owen, Brown, and Pryor will likely get onto the bench, but just think:  the filibuster has been preserved.  And since all the other tactics have been dismantled already, it'll mean that there'll be a last-ditch option in the event that Bush nominates an extreme paleocon to the Supreme Court.
