Ever since Foxsports.com fired all its writers, they've evidently been looking for an ink-stained wretch on eBay, of all places. Romenesko put it best: "Pay to work for Rupert Murdoch?"

Am I the only person who doesn't especially like Slate's new design? The two columns full of teeny type just aren't doing it for me.

Interesting story on Wired (via BoingBoing) about a new P2P file-sharing site...for distributing audio of arguments before the Supreme Court.

They're even using Creative Commons licenses -- good for them -- but I must admit I'm not quite sure why they need to. As the original recordings were government-made, that'd put them in the public domain. Oyez is editing and sweetening them, so it's a derivative work from a public-domain source. Their description of their editing doesn't sound like they're really making anything more than minor changes, though.

St. Gaudi? His architecture was indeed heavenly -- to the point where there's a movement afoot to beatify Antonio Gaudi.

Who woulda thunk it? The Fugs are still around...and they're playing the Village Underground tonight in what may be their last show.

Subject line on a spam I just got:

Seems superfluous somehow.

Saturday's weather was gorgeous, and I decided I wanted to get to know my adopted city better. I had a free ticket for the Circle Line boat tour (going around the island of Manhattan in three hours) and had a great time.
