Apropos of nothing: I had a good weekend. Friday evening, I went to a MeFi meetup (pix here) and enjoyed beer, conversation, and cupcakes with that wacky bunch.
Saturday, B. and I went for a very nice brunch at Enid's, where we ran into Adampsyche and Hotlead. After our kick-ass (...and ass-kicking) Bloody Marys, we pressed on into Manhattan, where we went to a bookstore, saw the new Bruce McCall show at a gallery on East 57th Street, had an abortive attempt at afternoon tea at a crazy-busy, severely understaffed Fauchon (thwarted only by the waiter's odd explanation that they were "out of tea stuff") and went to a fascinating forum on "Don Quixote at 400"...described by Chico here much better than I could.
And Sunday, we worked on unpacking boxes. (Less fun, perhaps, but equally necessary.) Chinese takeout and a couple of episodes of "Six Feet Under" capped off the evening.

Dammit... I can't believe I missed *another* MeFi Meetup! I need to get back in the habit of reading MeFi. On another note - isn't Enid's great! I live down the block and love to get brunch - as long as the hoards of hipsters isn't too big so I can get a seat.
