A few more things regarding l'affaire Schiavo:
--Billmon makes the discovery that one of the more strident "save Terri" protesters has an interesting background in military interrogation in Iraq;
--Didja notice that the Schindlers have sold their supporters' names and addresses to direct-mail marketing companies?
--Along the same lines, how much of this whole kerfuffle is about money? The LAT makes a convincing case that fiscal interests are very much in play;
--Why are the same folks who go on and on about the "sanctity of marriage" suddenly silent when a spouse attempts to exercise his time-honored legal right to make decisions on behalf of his incapacitated wife? (Gosh, it's certainly a good thing Terri Schiavo didn't decide to marry another woman...everyone would want her feeding tube pulled.)
--Similarly, Charles Fried points out that in this case we also have purported strong federalists who don't seem to care much about actual federalism;
--Kevin Drum notes that, as of this past weekend, Jeb Bush is certifiably batshit insane;
--it would be nice if the protesters outside Terri Schiavo's hospice weren't being obnoxious to all the other hospice patients and their families;
--I very rarely agree with Neal Boortz, but he has an interesting position: that Terri Schiavo has earned her death;
--Bill Frist can evidently diagnose people from hundreds of miles away, merely by looking at videotapes. What an amazing doctor he must be! But, since he's a public servant, this should be available to all. Send him photos of your ailments, and if you're lucky, he may diagnose you too! (Better get crackin', Bill...you've got quite the backlog already.)

Thanks again for the lovely roundup of yet another ugly state of affairs.

Thanks. I should note, for the record, that I'm neither pretending nor attempting to be balanced (or even copmrehensive) with this...I'm just rounding up a few points that I think are getting insufficient attention.

As to the Sanctity of Marriage point, I think he should have lost his "rights" as a husband when he started dating and then living with another woman. And other woman aside, most Sancitity of Marriage people wouldn't even let a husband demand a wife go on a diet, much more this type of thing.

But I do like the random quotes/thoughts.
